About This Remedy
Weaning is one of the most significant transitions in a young horse's life. For both mare and foal, it represents a shift from a familiar bond into a new stage of independence, often accompanied by changes in routine, environment and social structure.
While weaning is a natural part of development, the way it is managed can have a profound impact on emotional wellbeing. We believe that abrupt, early or highly stressful weaning experiences can leave a lasting emotional imprint, influencing confidence, attachment, stress responses and behaviour well beyond the weaning period itself.
Weaning Support has been carefully formulated to help ease this transition by encouraging emotional stability, confidence and resilience. Rather than focusing solely on separation, this blend supports the development of healthy independence while helping both mare and foal maintain a sense of security and wellbeing.
Whether weaning occurs gradually or more suddenly, this blend helps support a calmer, more confident adjustment to the next stage of life.
For The Horse: "We can separate with trust, confidence and love, knowing we are each safe to grow."
Pairs well with Grief & Loss, Trauma Release, and/or Crisis Calm.

Is this product right for my horse?
Weaning is not simply about separating a mare and foal. It is a significant emotional transition that asks both horses to adapt to change, develop confidence and find security in a new way of being.
While many horses adjust smoothly, others may experience significant stress, insecurity or emotional distress. In some cases, particularly where weaning was abrupt, early or highly stressful, the emotional effects may continue to influence confidence, attachment patterns and behaviour long after the event itself has passed.

Why we created this remedy
We recognise that weaning is far more than a management practice, it is a major emotional transition for both mare and foal.
We created Weaning Support to encourage calm independence, emotional security and resilience during this important stage of development. By supporting confidence, healthy attachment and adaptation to change, this blend helps mares and foals navigate the weaning process with greater ease while laying foundations for future emotional wellbeing and healthy relationships.
We also recognise that the emotional effects of weaning are not always limited to the weaning period itself. For some horses, early separation experiences may continue to influence confidence, attachment patterns and emotional security later in life. This remedy was created to support horses through this transition as gently and thoughtfully as possible.
